Deviled Eggs in a New Way

Deviled eggs are delicious and a staple food for many during a smorgasbord.

Usually it’s egg yolks with mustar, mayonnaise and some spices. I decided to make them slightly different this morning for brunch.

  1. 2 egg yolks from hard boiled eggs
  2. 2-3 tbsp homemade mayonnaise
  3. 1 small garlic clove
  4. Salt and pepper
  5. 1 tsp lemon juice
  6. 4-5 fresh basil leaves

Put everything in a tall container and use an immersion blender to mix everything to a smooth mixture. Place in the egg whites.

Enjoy! 😊

Paleo Pickled Cucumber

All throughout summer, they have vegetable, fruit and berry stands at the ”market place” where I currently live.I bought some stuff yesterday, among them some cucumbers, or perhaps they’re called gherkins…? They’re a smaller kind of cucumber, which one most often make pickle out of.

I was craving pickles and so I decided to make some. Only thing is….I won’t be able to eat them for some time 😆
This is what I used:

  1. 5 small cucumbers
  2. 500 ml water
  3. 100 ml vinegar essence
  4. 1 tbsp honey
  5. 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  6. A little white pepper and black pepper
  7. A bunch of dill

Put all the ingredients, except the cucumbers and dill, in a pot. Let it come to a boil and then turn down the heat and let it simmer for a bit. Take off the stove and let it cool.

Slice the cucumber (or leave them as is) and place in a glass jar together with the dill. Pour the liquid over so that it covers all the ingredients in the jar. You might have to add some water to it.

Place the jars in the fridge and let it sit at least 2-4 days before eating it.

Update: they are to DIE for!! So yummy. Try it! 😊
The water looks dark, but that’s because I used honey and coconut sugar which is brown. 😊

Summer Salad

There are so many ways to make a salad. It all depends on what you like.

Yesterday I made a melon and feta salad. It was delicious! I had it with chicken fillet.

I didn’t measure the ingredients, only threw some stuff together.

This is not 100% paleo as there is feta cheese in it.

  1. Melon (any kind you like, I used Cantaloupe)
  2. Feta cheese
  3. Avocado
  4. Feta cheese
  5. Spring onion
  6. Juice from half a lemon
  7. Black pepper

Cut in pieces and mix together.

Enjoy! 😊

Mouth Health – Update

So, back in March, I wrote about my Mouth Health Routine.
Oil Pulling, my own toothpaste and tongue scraping.

Unfortunately, I found the toothpaste too…sour…? Or bitter. I had too much baking soda in the mix, I think.
So… I decided to try a toothpaste which I bought in a ”health store”.

It’s from the brand ”Urtekram”, who also make scahmpoo, conditioner, shower cream, deodorants etc. I haven’t tried any other of their products.

This toothpaste doesn’t have that much taste, just a suddle minty flavor. And it doesn’t foam, like your ordinary toothpaste, but my homemade own didn’t foam either. It definitely feels weird to brush your teeth with something that had next to no flavor and doesn’t foam, but it’s something you’ll get used too.

I’ve been very lazy with the oil pulling as well. I did so well in the beginning and then stress at work happened and after that, vacation…. So I’ve been totally off the oil pulling for a couple of months.

The update isn’t what it was thought it be, so I’m gonna continue with the current regime (adding oil pulling again) and get back to you after this summer.😊

Grassfed Beef and Game

Not far from where I live is a farm, where they have cows, pigs, sheep, and hens. And all animals are fed natural food, food they were meant to eat, like for example grass.

This farmer also has lots of game, like elk, deer, venison and wild bore. One can buy some steaks, mince or other things right at the farm, as they have a small farm store. You can also order bigger packages of meat and pick it up. That’s what we did.

Just to try it out, we chose to buy 10kg of game meat and share with my partner’s parents. We got a little of everything, and have tried a couple of things so far.

The other week we had a BBQ and decided to put some wild bore chops on the grill. Yummy!! 😋 It was absolutely delicious!

Yesterday we took venison mince and made burgers from it. Less yum. Still ok, meat, but it had a very distinct smell which I couldn’t shake off during dinner and thought it tasted like it smelled…like cat food 😸

I also bought eggs from there the other week. Delicious! More taste and a different, healthier color of the yolk. Unfortunately I do not have a car, so I cannot but my weekly supply of eggs from them😔

I love that we’ve found this farm!💚 We will try the beef as well sometime. 😊

The farm is called Lilla Spännefalla and is located outside Tibro in Sweden. I definitely recommend it if you live in Sweden or visit Sweden and want some high quality meat.😊

Rhubarb and Strawberry Compote

I love rhubarb and strawberries!
Together they are unbeatable

I took 4 stems of rhubarb and about 200 g of strawberries. Cut in to smaller pieces and put in a pot on the stove together with 1 tbsp honey and some vanilla powder.

Once it starts to become more liquid, I let it simmer for about 30-45 min, then take off the heat and let it cool.

I serve this with either coconut cream or cow cream, depending on who´s going to eat it. It´s yum!

Tomatpaj / Tomato Pie

Tomatpaj är riktigt gott, saftigt och passar bra i sig själv eller tillsammans med en protein källa.

Detta recept är byggt på ett recept från tidningen Matkärlek, vilket jag ändrat lite för att passa oss bättre. 🙂
